*CALL TO WORSHIP
Our God is an awesome God who breathed into
emptiness and created all.
With
love and care, God shaped the world in all its diversity.
We come to give thanks for the many blessings
God has given.
May
our worship help us to draw near to God and to one another.
Praise be to God.
Amen.

OPENING PRAYER
On this Labor Day Sunday O God, let us, in a special way, lift up all people
who labor, either for pay or as volunteers, in jobs or at school, at home or in
the workplace, in the U.S. and around the world. Help us to build a new world
in the midst of the old, a world where all workers are valued; where those who
clean houses are also able to buy houses to live in. Help us to build a world
where all workers everywhere share in the labor and the abundance that you have
given us. O God of grace and transformation, when we ask you give us the
courage and strength to live out our faith in the workplace and the marketplace,
as well as in the sanctuary. Hear our prayers this day in Jesus’ name. Amen.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING
Breaking the Bread and Sharing the Cup
The
Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy
name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us
this day our daily bread, and
forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the
power, and the glory forever.
Amen.
