TO WORSHIP
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
Holiness is the beauty of God's temple while time shall last.
We
worship God in the sanctity and freedom from our sins,
Which Christ gives us through his life's blood. Let us enter his gates with
Thanksgiving
and Praise!
*HYMN “He Has Made Me Glad” TFWS No. 2270
PRAYER
Loving God, as we worship you, consecrate
us by your purifying Spirit that we may become your holy children. Sovereign of
all, who is and who was and who is to come, raise us above the tides of natural
events, and the ebb and flow of history, so that we may glimpse the glory of
your eternal realm and be satisfied with no lesser honor than to serve you as
witness to the truth in the company of Jesus Christ. Your majesty, eternal God,
precedes and exceeds the grandeur of the seas, and your throne does not pass
away. You are the Alpha and the Omega, who is and who was and who is to come.
May our thanksgiving continue not only while we have life and breath but
through such coming generations as shall live until all people and nations of
every language shall serve you. Amen
FROM THE PSALMS Psalm 100 OT pg. 522
This is a song of praise and
thanksgiving to the Lord who is steadfast in love and faithfulness.

THE EPISTLES Ephesians
Paul gives thanks for the faith and love of the Ephesians and prays that they may see with their
inward eyes the power of God who has raised and enthroned Jesus far above all
earthly and heavenly dominions.

FROM THE GOSPELS Matthew 25:31-46 NT pgs. 27-28
Our gospel presents a picture of the
universal judgment when the Son of Man, acting as judge and ruler, will
separate humankind into two groups: those who have cared for the Lord in the
needy, the stranger and prisoners, and those who have not.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Ancient in years,
first-born from the dead, timeless Spirit, we confess that too often we are overawed
by the wealth and power of human rulers, forgetting that they are as mortal as
we are and that only Jesus Christ has won an impressive victory over death.
Forgive us if political and national loyalties have superseded the dignity you
offer us as a royal house of priests to serve you. You have sent us your
faithful son Jesus Christ, but we listen to him less attentively than to less
demanding voices around us. We admit that we too are among the people whose
sins have wounded him. Forgive and free us from all our sins by the giving of
his life's blood. Amen
DECLARATION OF PARDON
Friends, hear the Good
News! The Christ loves us and freed us from our sins
with his life's blood.
The Christ makes us a royal house to serve as priests of his God and Father.
Friends, believe the Good News!
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
thy name. Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is
in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And
forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver
us from evil. For thine is
the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, forever. Amen.

NEWSLETTER
ARTICLES DUE TOMORROW Our
December/January newsletter will be printed this week and distributed next
Sunday. Please get your articles and information in to the church office by
tomorrow, Nov 21st.
CHURCH
DOORS – Please double check the outside
doors each time you enter and exit the church building. There are times when
the door does not completely close and the bar on the door must be pressed in
again in order for the door to close and lock. This is necessary in order to
keep our building secure. Your cooperation is appreciated!
GOOD SAMARITAN
FUND Our Good Samaritan Fund was
established in order for the Pastor to confidentially help people in our
congregation and community who are in need of financial assistance. This fund
supports those needing help with rent, food, gas, medication, and other basic
necessities. The fall and winter months seem to bring greater demands for
assistance than other times of the year. If you are able to make a contribution
to our Good Samaritan Fund at this time, it would be greatly appreciated by
those in need. You can make your check payable to Ebenezer
THANKSGIVING/CHRISTMAS
FAMILIES Thank you for your contributions towards a good Thanksgiving
meal for our families. We are now collecting food for Christmas and soon the
Christmas tree will be up in the Narthex with names and gift suggestions for the
families. Questions? See Sue Bergmann or Susan Brown.

Can we say no to
God? Do you think there have been times when you have failed to recognize
angels who have appeared in your life? What can we learn from the story of the
Christ Child’s birth? These are some of the questions we will explore during
the season of Advent. Our Advent Study is based on Adam Hamilton’s Book The
Journey; Walking the Road to Bethlehem. You may read the book before we
begin the study; however, it is not necessary. This is a four week study to
help us better understand the events that led up to the birth of Jesus in a stable
in Bethlehem; to explore the significance of the Nativity; and to reflect upon
the meaning of these events for our lives today. Our time together will include
small group discussions and a video presentation in which Dr. Hamilton visits
