CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE

      Today we give thanks for the Josephs among us, migrating far from home when there is no choice, fiercely devoted to the ones they love, unwavering in their belief that there is room for all in the kingdom of God.

READER

      On this fourth Sunday of Advent, we light this candle as a symbol of Joseph, who knocks at the door, ready to take his place among royalty.

       Pastoral Prayer

       The Lord’s Prayer

               Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,   thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.           And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And       lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom,             and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Stanza #3

So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh,

 come peasant, king, to own him;

the King of kings salvation brings,

let loving hearts enthrone him.

This, this is Christ the King,

whom shepherds guard and angels sing;

Haste, haste to bring him laud,

the babe, the son of Mary.

    *Prayer of Dedication

                 Loving God, through these gifts you enable us to share our gifts with others. May they be used to glorify you and to serve your people in all that we say and do.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

To Our Visitors

          Welcome to Ebenezer United Methodist Church! We are so happy you are visiting today. It is our prayer that you will feel the warmth of our church family spirit, and that you will experience God’s presence in a mighty way as you worship with us this morning.

          We offer a nursery during worship for infants through kindergarten.  The nursery is located down the hall in our education wing. Our staff will certainly come and get you if your child needs you. Please feel free to utilize this ministry of our church.

          It would be helpful if you would complete an attendance card in the pew rack in front of you and place it in the offering plate during the morning offering. We would like to keep in touch and help you learn more about Ebenezer UMC. We are blessed by your presence with us this morning.

CHURCH DOORS

Please double check the outside doors each time you enter and exit the church building. There are times when the door does not completely close and the bar on the door must be pushed again in order for the door to close and lock. Your cooperation is appreciated!
