Feed My Sheep was started in 1998 as a lunch on Mondays. Since then it has expanded to teams from 10 churches in the Southern part of Carroll County serving on Mondays and Fridays. Each team serves one day each month. All the meals are prepared and served at Wesley Freedom UMC’s facility, because the meals must be prepared in a facility inspected and apprvoed by the Department of Environmental Health. Each meal must offer a meat, starch dish, vegetables, fruit, bread, dessert, and beverage. Each church pays for the cost of their team’s basic menu. The meal is also supplemented with donations we receive from the Food Lion and Panera Bread, as well as donations of canned goods and fresh produce from generous community members. Wesley Freedom provides us with our own storage closet, refrigerator, and two freezers.
