Ebenezer Music

The Music Program

at

Ebenezer Methodist Church

Linda Bange, Adult Music Director and Organist

Ebenezer Church is fortunate to have a very dedicated adult choir. This group meets weekly on Wednesday evenings and participates in worship services from September through May each year.

The choir sings a variety of music from traditional to recent popular music appropriate for worship presenting a Christmas cantata and special additional music for festival Sundays such as Easter.

Often times, instrumentalists are called upon to enhance the choir music and worship service.

Ebenezer also offers opportunities for worship participation by singing solos, duets and trios.

The choir is a very welcoming group and is open to all volunteer singers. Please consider being a music part of the Ebenezer family.

Ebenezer is so fortunate to have a rich musical heritage and we work to continue to provide musical praise, reflection and prayer each week for generations to come!

Children’s Music Program

Jen Klausmeyer, Director of Children’s Choirs

The children’s choirs at EUMC meet on Wednesday nights from 6-7:15 pm,
and our objective is to praise God and have fun!  Choirs participate
in worship on the 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month, at 11:00 AM and 8:30 am , respectively.
The Cherub choir, for 4 and 5 year olds,  meets from 6:00 PM-6:30 PM.
Each session is opened with a prayer and a Psalm. Music is learned
through movement and play.  We learn to follow directions, match
pitches, keep the beat, and decode simple rhythmic patterns.  Rather
than focusing on printed material, songs are learned through call and
response.
The Joyful Noise choir, for 1st through 5th grades, extends
skills learned in cherub choir.  We focus on decoding rhythms, working
as a team, tracking and decoding printed music scores, following the
order of worship, etc.  We introduce part singing and singing in
other languages.  Games and play, as well as our prayerful opening
are also a part of this group.
Every year we extend our learning by attending a music-related
field trip.  In the past we have attended performances of a Bible
-based musical at the local college, as well as a Christmas concert,
and a concert by a Kenyan children’s choir.  Every summer we enjoy the
fellowship  of all choir families when we gather for a picnic or
cook-out.  Our choir parents, functioning as helpers and chaperones,
are a huge blessing, and are very supportive of our program.
